About JuratAI

JuratAI is a Canadian legal technology company focused on making high-quality AI legal research tools accessible and affordable. The Canadian legal system is complex, spanning federal and provincial jurisdictions, two official languages, and of case law spread across databases that charge a premium for access. For too long, the tools available to navigate this system have been designed for large firms with large budgets.

Jurat is built to change that. By combining multiple AI models with live research across Canadian legal sources, Jurat delivers thorough, cited legal research in minutes at a fraction of the cost of traditional tools. No subscriptions, no lock-in contracts. Just pay for what you use.

Every feature is designed around how Canadian legal professionals actually work: plain-language queries, automatic note-up, bilingual research, personalized writing, and privacy-first architecture that ensures your research stays yours.

About Me

Daniel Handley

I'm Daniel Handley, an articling student in British Columbia and the sole developer behind JuratAI. I built Jurat because I heard how the cost of legal research tools creates a barrier not just for lawyers, but for the people who depend on them. When a solo practitioner or small firm can't afford the same research platform as a Bay Street firm, it's their clients who pay the price.

My goal is to help small and mid-sized Canadian firms leverage AI so they can provide better, cheaper legal services to individuals who might otherwise be unable to access legal help at all. Access to justice shouldn't depend on the size of your firm's software budget.

I designed, built, and maintain every part of JuratAI — from the research pipeline to the web dashboard. If you have any questions, want to give the software a trial, or just want to chat about legal tech, reach out to me at daniel@jurat.ai.
